What is the DPF and is it worth doing a DPF Delete?

Most diesel vehicles manufactured after 2007 are equipped with a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) to meet emissions regulations. While the DPF helps reduce harmful emissions, it comes with a few downsides, including regular maintenance and costly repairs. 

Over time, the DPF can become clogged, causing increased backpressure within the exhaust system. This added pressure disrupts the fuel flow, reducing engine efficiency and power. By removing the DPF with a LML Duramax DPF Delete Kit, the exhaust gases can flow more freely, significantly improving fuel efficiency and engine performance. 

With the LML Duramax DPF Delete Kit, your 2011-2015 Chevy/GMC Duramax 6.6L engine will experience smoother fuel flow, increased power, and better overall fuel mileage. Tuner Required: Removal of the DPF, CAT, SCR, and/or DOC involves removing and eliminating emission-related sensors. A DPF delete capable tuner is required to prevent any check engine light or diagnostic trouble codes from setting.

Benefits: Expect to see a significant increase in fuel mileage. If your DPF is plugged up your probably averaging about 13-14 mpg. More or less depends on the severity of the restriction. After deleting the DPF/CAT expects to get a combined mileage of 18-19 mpg.
